Ebay is something where we all need each other .without the sellers there are no buyers and ebay makes nothing .It is really a symbiotic relationship. This current issue of new policies slaps the sellers in the face. Ebay is losing business to Amazon , and there are many reasons why. EBay is in the business of creating markets. Communication, information, are the most important components of a functional market.
EBay is the world?s largest trading community where millions of people buy and sell millions of items every day. Because communication is key to ecommerce the acquisition of Skype (a global internet communications company) will strengthen eBay?s global marketplace. EBay is unwilling to make any editorial judgments about feedback, lest it be held legally responsible for all the feedback content. One of the recent changes they?ve made is to add a ?think about it and confirm that you mean it? Ebay is locking out google checkout to protect its paypal cash cow, thats it. Google was going to hold a protest party about this treatment, but ebay pulled their adwords.
EBay is responding with a whole new strategic gamble–one some company insiders say is its most ambitious ever. The mastermind is John Donahoe, 47, whom Whitman brought aboard three years ago and installed as president of eBay Marketplaces (and as her heir apparent).
