Marketing is about markets - which will be around for as long as humans trade. But the digital era is shaking up the marketing industry, just as it is doing to many others, and maybe the era of Promotion is going to be the victim. Marketing is a complex skill with many different tactics and approaches. Responsible Marketing Consulting Services can help you create, execute and measure the success of a variety of marketing activities. Marketing is one of the most important strategies your firm can undertake – possibly the most important – and needs to be treated as such.
Marketing is often mistakenly identified with selling and promotion. Most people are surprised to learn that the most important functions of the marketing professional often have little to do with selling. Marketing is no longer centralized in the hands of a few managers . It is now distributed across different parts of the organization, with the sales force playing a major marketing role. Marketing is not just about moving products and services, ultimately its about selling an idea or perception about an organisation or it’s products and services to potential consumers. A church has a very important idea to communicate, the truth that Jesus Christ died for every single one of you, sometimes this means that a church has to meet the world on a level which people in the world are able to understand.
Marketing is like leadership: neither is inherently good or bad, but both are needed to shepherd people into relationship with Christ. And when the secular business world spends billions trying to understand how humans interact and positively react (or negatively react) to our message and our leadership, it behooves us to take advantage of what we can learn. Marketing is not an event, but a process . It has a beginning, a middle, but never an end, for it is a process. Marketing is not closing the deal. Marketing is not clever Super Bowl ads in which people talk about the horses that play ball, but no on can quite remember the product.
Marketing is analysis, and a sound marketing strategy is based on this analysis. What type of analysis are we talking about? Marketing is not an expense, it’s an investment cost that is inherent in the creation of your product/service from development through promotion and distribution and on to the sales experience and post-sales service. That’s a subtle accounting distinction but a crucial one. Marketing is usually focused on one product or service. Thus, a marketing plan for one product might be very different than that for another product.
